NYSC Members May Be Among Victims Of Kwara Human Parts Market
A human parts market was recently uncovered in Kwara state. Items
found at the scene raise fears that corp members may be among the
killers' victims
There are fears that National Youth Service Corps
(NYSC) members may be among the victims of the criminals operating the
human man parts market recently discovered by the Kwara State Police
Command.
The Kwara State Police Commissioner, Mr.
Ambrose O. Aisabor, said the suspected 'human parts market', an
uncompleted building located along the Airport/Eyenkorin road, near the
state capital, Ilorin, was discovered after a tip-off.
“The
command’s special undercover agents on June 28 at about 0700hrs while
acting on intelligence report discovered the hide-out for criminals
dealing in human parts.
“I think that place is
used as a market where people who are involved in ritual activities buy
human parts, investigation is still going”, the CP said.
Inside The Human Market
At least three headless bodies at different stages of decomposition were found in the building alongside other personal items.
"When we visited the place, we discovered a bizarre scenario.
"Among
the items recovered is decomposed headless body, human feet, snail
shells and clothes suspected to be used in strangulating their victims,"
Aisabor said.
The police have so far, not made any arrests in connection with the market, but Aisabor said investigations are on.
He added that an 85-year-old woman, the owner of the building, has been taken in for interrogation.
Corp Members Among Victims?
A number of NYSC caps were found around the bodies.
Though
the police have not hinted this possibility, it will not be far-fetched
to assume that some corp members may have at some point in the past
fallen victim to the operators of the human parts market.
